I am a Canadian Artist well known for portraying the figure and faces of women. More recently, my works include Canadian landscapes, urban sketches and abstracts. I am the founder and Creative Director of 17 Designs, a graphic design and web development company that started in 1998 in Mississauga, later moved to Oakville, and now is located in Tillsonburg, Ontario. I have embraced the challenge of becoming a TV producer and host of “Stella’s Studio” on Camoes TV, featuring artists, visiting art-related events, museums and galleries. I was also the Artistic Director for MDC Media Group, a multi-media company and the cartoonist for the Milenio Stadium newspaper. I have a passion for music so I am also a jazz vocalist with “Jazz Plazma” and “Stella Jurgen & The Swing of Things”.
I am a well-versed artist open to work with all mediums. My style is eclectic and diverse. Many of my recent and most popular pieces are pop-art full of colour and emotion. My origins began with pencil, ink and air brush but quickly progressed to oil and acrylic paints. Recently I have been printing my artwork on textiles and experimenting with applications on wearable items and fashion accessories.
My works are available for showcase in galleries around Ontario, Canada. My paintings have been on display in restaurants around Port Credit, Mississauga and Oakville with a permanent collection at the Flor Dois restaurant in Toronto. I have been featured at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre, Bradley Museum, Abrigo Centre, Consulate General of Portugal, Alberto de Castro Gallery, Artworld Fine Art Gallery, The Grange, Pixie Blue Studio, The Peach Gallery, Pazan Gallery and Engel & Volkers Oakville. My works are for sale at the Station Art Centre in Tillsonburg and at the Art Emporium in Port Stanley, Ontario.
