Stella Jurgen, Paula Anderson, Nisreen Askar - Abrigo Fundraiser 2024

Abrigo Centre “Inspire, Elevate and Empower” Fundraising Dinner

The Abrigo Centre INSPIRE, ELEVATE and EMPOWER 2024 event took place March 2 at the Pearson International Convention Centre. This event was a fundraiser dedicated to women where the proceeds support women facing intimate partner violence and abuse. I painted “Empowered” featuring Portuguese ceramics by Augusta Street in Lisbon, fishing sardines, helping each other achieve their dreams (the ceramic cat eating the sardine). I thank artists, Paula Anderson, an established contemporary artist represented by Summer & Grace Gallery in Oakville, she painted large flowers, check her art. Nisreen Askar ( Nisreen Art), a contemporary artist, recipient of numerous Art Battle awards and owner of Nisreen Art Studio in Port Credit, Mississauga. She painted “Rosa” a Vianese folklore dancer with a beautiful smile. The three of us painted “Streetcar Named Desire”. The four paintings done in two hours raised great funds together. We also donated paintings for the silent auction. Thank you for having us, we are happy to contribute our talent to make a difference for women that need assistance.
